ABSTRACT
The article briefly reviews the contributions of Prof. Manlio Simonetti on the Arian crisis. In doing so, it tries to restore both his interpretations and his method of analysis, relating it to the historiography of his time and trying to frame his investigative approach in the broad framework of the interpretative options of Christianity in the early centuries.
